The principles of the movement

On October 13, we stop!

On October 13, we march because it’s urgent. The world can no longer do without half of humanity.

Women’s rights aren’t just a matter of justice: they are the condition for a better future for everyone.

For gender balance, the planet, peace, and the future. Against all forms of violence.

Because the world must also be built with women, we march:

These demands align with UN Sustainable Development Goal 5:
gender equality.

01

For women’s Freedom

Guarantee every girl and woman the basic conditions for freedom: education, health, the right to control her own body, financial independence, and protection from all forms of violence and precarity.

Universal access to sexual and reproductive healthcare.

A comprehensive law against sexual violence covering justice, policing, healthcare, education, employment, and childhood (backed in France by 150 organizations and members of parliament).

Investing in the freedom of girls and women strengthens the freedom of our societies as a whole.

02

For Women RIGHTS

Guarantee real equality between women and men, in law and in practice.

Enshrining equality in the Constitution or the country's founding texts-.

Public funding that genuinely and equally benefits women and men alike (gender mainstreaming).

A democracy is measured by its ability to guarantee the same rights and the same opportunities to everyone.

03

For balanced POWER

Guarantee equal access to political, social, and economic responsibilities.

Equal pay for work of equal value.

Parity in public and private decision-making bodies.

Deciding and acting together is the foundation of a sustainable and clear-sighted way of running our societies.

04

For a fairer, more sustainable FUTURE

Guarantee girls and women a full and rightful place in building tomorrow’s world.

Equal education at every level, from preschool to doctoral studies.

Equal access, participation, and representation in the professions of the future (science, technology, AI, the ecological transition, innovation).

There is no future without half of humanity.

05

For the COMMON GOOD, together!

Guarantee that the common good is at the heart of political, economic, and social decisions, and prioritize education and care work.

The full and equal participation of women in peace negotiations and environmental decisions.

Fair financial recognition for education, care, and service work, which is carried out mainly by women.

When women take part in the world’s decisions on equal footing, the quality of those decisions improves, and all of humanity moves forward
